Each year at the Dream Gala, the JDRF Seattle Guild presents The Living & Giving Award to an individual, family or company who has made a significant contribution toward JDRF's efforts to find a cure for diabetes.

The JDRF Seattle Guild presents the Annual Living & Giving Award to an organization or individual who has provided outstanding support in our efforts to support the mission of JDRF. The award, created by Seattle glass artist James Minson, is presented at the annual Dream Gala. This evening the JDRF Seattle Guild is proud to recognize the distinguished broadcasting company, KING 5 – The Home Team, for their generous support of the JDRF Seattle Guild and the Dream Gala. From its origin in the late nineteenforties, KING 5 has provided outstanding television programming and has given generous gifts of time talent and funding to the citizens in our community. It is with great appreciation that we celebrate and honor KING 5 this evening. Ray Heacox, President and General Manager, will accept the award on behalf of KING 5 – The Home Team. Congratulations and thank you for sharing our dream of a cure.
